Cookie Cutter — Support

Cookie Cutter lets you delete specific cookies using wildcard patterns and turn JavaScript on or off for the site you're on — from a toolbar button. Works in Safari and Chrome.

Getting started

1. Enable Cookie Cutter in your browser's Extensions settings, and pin it to the toolbar.
2. Click the Cookie Cutter icon to open the popup.
3. Add a pattern — a cookie name, a domain, or both — then click Preview matches to see how many cookies match, and Delete all matching to remove them.
4. Use the JavaScript control in the popup to switch scripts on or off for the current site.

Common questions

How do patterns work?

Enter a name and/or domain and use * to match any characters and ? to match a single one. For example, *filter* clears cookies whose name contains "filter", and *.example.com targets one site. Leave a field blank to match anything for that field.

Why does it need access to websites?

Cookies are stored per-site, so deleting them across the sites you visit requires access to those sites. Everything happens locally on your device — nothing is ever sent anywhere.

How do I turn JavaScript back on?

Open the popup on the same site and use the JavaScript control to switch it back on. The toolbar icon shows red on any site where JavaScript is currently switched off.

Does Cookie Cutter collect my data?

No. Your settings are stored locally, and there are no accounts, analytics, or tracking.

How do I remove it or reset it?

Uninstall Cookie Cutter from your browser's Extensions settings, or clear the extension's data to reset your patterns.
